Beschreibung

The museum:

The aim of the Snowboardmuseum is to document and preserve the development of the snowboard and its history. People should be able to see and feel how the boards have changed over the years. In Mühlbach am Hochkönig, in the Austrian province of Salzburg, there is a permanent exhibition room where visitors can see, touch and feel the spectrum of boards we have collected.

The author:

Peter Radacher grew up at the foot of the Hochkeil mountain in Austria’s Hochkönig region. As a child he was a ski jumper and soon discovered snowboarding. For many years he competed in a variety of contest and still does sometimes.

He trained as a snowboard instructor and studied sports management at the University of Innsbruck and Granada. Today, he runs the family business, Arthurhaus-Radacher GmbH (now in the fifth generation), with the Team Hostel Hochkeilhaus and the 100% natural snow Hochkeil lifts.

Peter runs the snowboard museum there out of pure passion. He loves to stand on his snowboard – especially in powder, in steep gullies or even when ascending on the splitboard.
